Taylor Group is excited to announce an important addition to our growing team: Gary Schafer joined us as a Partner earlier this year.
Gary is a lifelong entrepreneur, with over twenty years’ experience founding fast-growing startups. Gary has been involved in the creation and scaling of several high-profile startups in the technology and consulting services sectors. Throughout his career, Gary has helped organizations navigate pivotal turning points such as talent management, new product offerings, business development, business mergers, acquisitions, equity funding, and more.
Beyond his experience leading startups, Gary also spent several years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. In this role, Gary helped senior leaders at Fortune 500 companies tackle their most pressing strategic challenges. While at McKinsey & Company Gary was a leader in McKinsey’s service operations practice and worked with several high-profile insurance and financial service organizations.
As a serial entrepreneur and expert adviser, Gary has personally experienced firsthand the challenging inflection points business owners commonly encounter. These experiences piqued his interest in working with Taylor Group, which focuses on helping growing business strategically manage their people and risk challenges. Gary believes that Taylor Group's mission to provide proactive people and risk management on a cost-effective budget fills a huge void at growing businesses.
Gary will provide strategic leadership at Taylor Group, ensuring the people, process and technology are in place to consistently deliver on clients’ needs. Gary will also be spearheading the rollout of several new value-adding programs and initiatives for Taylor Group's clients over the coming year. As his passion lies in helping small-to-mid-sized businesses scale, Gary is very excited to be working with Taylor Group's clients to achieve their goals.
Gary has served on the board of HCS Family Services and currently serves on the board of Entrepreneurs' Organization Chicago. He graduated from North Central College with a degree in Business and earned an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He currently lives in Northbrook, IL.
